Mommy Makeover: What Is It?

Having a child can be one of the most wonderful experiences for a woman. However, it is also one of the toughest things a woman can do and as a result, her body undergoes severe stress and pressure. This results in the body becoming out of shape. The woman’s breasts become droopy and the abdominal walls become loose due to the stretching that occurs during pregnancy. Thankfully, there is a way to fix all of this and bring the mother’s body back to its old youthful form. The procedure is known as body rejuvenation or more commonly, as a Mommy Makeover.

With a Mommy Makeover, mothers can rest assured that they will never have to worry about their bodies being out of shape.

What is a Mommy Makeover?

Once a woman is done with her childbearing, she can opt in for a Mommy Makeover procedure. This procedure focuses on the rejuvenation of the breasts, tummy, and the body in general. Their is a specific procedure that focuses on each area. For the breasts, a procedure called breast augmentation is followed. For the abdomen or tummy, the plastic surgeon will perform a tummy tuck or abdominoplasty.

  • Breast augmentation: Here, the shape of the breasts are enhanced and the volume is increased to prevent droopiness. The size is also altered to achieve better symmetry. All this results in fuller looking breasts, which regain their, once lost, youthfulness.
  • Tummy tuck or abdominoplasty: A tummy tuck procedure is carried out to create a flatter and thinner stomach, since this can be quite a problem for women, post-delivery. The procedure involves making an incision just above the pubic  hairline, after which the abdominal muscles are corrected in case there is any weakness or separation. If there is extra fat, then it is removed surgically. For the removal of excess skin, an incision is made around the navel to make the procedure easier.
