Does Liposuction Eliminate Cellulite?

Cellulite plagues the female population, and often women find that pregnancy makes their cellulite worse.  Many seek a solution, and wonder if liposuction may be the one.

Is Liposuction a Cure for Cellulite?

The answer as to whether or not liposuction is a cure for cellulite is both yes and no. Liposuction removes fat and can help contour the body. It treats problem areas in the sense that the shape and overall appearance of that area changes for the better by reducing the bumps and bulges that fat causes. Cellulite is dimpling of the skin that occurs when lumps of fat push up against the connective tissue. In some circumstances, removing this fat will improve or eliminate cellulite.

In other circumstances, permanent dimpling of the skin may not actually be resolved with the removal of fat. It depends upon the condition of the skin. However, changing the shape of the area with fat removal can affect cellulite as well as the skin rests differently – so that may also have a bearing upon how liposuction improves cellulite.
