With swimsuit season approaching, many people may be looking in the mirror and analyzing what they see. For those who desire a more voluptuous, shapely appearance, a Brazilian Butt Lift may be the solution. Read on to find out more about this increasingly popular procedure.
What Is A Brazilian Butt Lift?
A Brazilian Butt Lift is a method of buttock augmentation that uses fat transfer techniques to create a more round, perky behind using a patient’s own fat. This fat is collected through liposuction of a specific area, such as the thighs, abdomen or love handles, leaving the area sculpted and smoother. The fat is then purified using special technology, and placed in the buttocks using hundreds of tiny injections. This ensures a controlled, smooth distribution of the fat for a curvy, firm and natural-looking contour. The procedure typically lasts for two to four hours.
What Is Recovery Like?
Following the procedure, it is important that patients avoid sitting directly on the buttocks or lying on their backs for two to three weeks. Compression garments may be worn during this time to help reduce swelling. Bruising, swelling and some discomfort are normal and can be expected during the recovery process. Many patients return to work two weeks after surgery, and return to all normal activities within one month. Swelling usually subsides around six weeks, when full results are visible. With proper diet and exercise, results are designed to last for a long time.
Do Results Look Natural?
Yes. Since the patient’s own fat is used and carefully and expertly distributed, there is a greater level of control than when implants are used for augmentation. This ensures that results look natural, rather than “over done”.
